Proverbs 24:12

"Once our eyes have been opened, we cannot pretend we do not know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows we know and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12

Hong Kong - December 29

We were recounting tonight as a family all the wonderful blessings from God we have seen and experienced this trip.  Some were funny, some were serious, all were amazing.  He has been so near to us as we leaned hard into Him these two weeks.  All of us are grateful to Him for His provision for us in travel, health and most of all in Elsa.  She has made amazing strides these two weeks in becoming a part of our family.  We love her so much!  Tonight we heard belly laughs from her for the first time and it was spectacular!

We left Guangzhou and our guide Connie early this morning, heading for Hong Kong.  Leaving mainland China, we used Elsa's passport for the first time. Its a little unnerving standing at immigration, knowing all the paperwork is correct, but still wondering if there will be a problem.  The only issue was that somehow Elsa lost her diaper on the floor as we were passing through security!  Oh dear!! It wasn't a national incident, but definitely a first for them, I'm sure.

After arriving in Hong Kong, we checked into the hotel and found out how to get to the city.  The last time we were here was when we adopted Annika five years ago.  We knew exactly where we wanted to go this time too.  We found the train station, made it to the central station after a few stops, got into taxis and rode to the top of the Peak.  With a spectacular view of Victoria Harbor, we ate a wonderful meal.  The only thing that was missing was the Lee family, who were with us the first time we did this.

We leave tomorrow morning for home.  That is a great feeling.  We are so grateful for all the prayers and encouraging comments we have received these two weeks.  It will be good to get home and into our own beds.  Our great God has gotten us this far, and He will get us home.  To the praise of His glory......

On the train to Hong Kong.

 View from the Peak.
 Missing the Lee's here!

 Incredible view from our table.
